SUPERSTAR RETURNS TO CANADIAN BRASS

Trombonist Keith Dyrda is back

The Canadian Brass, known for its excellence in chamber music performance, is excited to welcome back trombonist Keith Dyrda.  Keith had originally joined the group in 2010 replacing co-founder Gene Watts while still a student at McGill University.  Keith contributed to the Canadian Brass 2011 award-winning recording Brahms On Brass, where he was featured prominently, particularly in a solo on Chorale Prelude X.

Gene, who had initially supported Keith as his replacement, praised him then as young, charismatic, full of fun and one of the finest young trombonists on the scene today.  Now, after fourteen years, Watts commends Keith once again saying,  Keith is fulfilling his promise becoming as fine a trombonist as I have ever heard.

Keith, dubbed the Wayne Gretzky of the Trombone steps back into the Brass following another legendary trombonist, Achilles Liarmakopoulos, often referred to as the Greek God of the Trombone.  Achilles is pursuing new opportunities as a performer in the Greek National Symphony Orchestra and as a featured soloist.

Canadian Brass veterans Chuck, Jeff, and Joe, along with new trumpeter Mikio Sasaki, welcome the quintessential presentation of this new incarnation of Canadian Brass with Keith Dyrda completing the ensemble.
