Canadian Brass Celebrate Their Heritage With Their First Ever Boxed Set!
Opening Day Entertainment Group is proud to announce the release of the Canadian Brass boxed set The Classics, featuring works from Renaissance, Baroque and Classical composers. It is a first for the venerable brass group as it becomes their first boxed set collection ever assembled. This three CD set with 49 tracks, many made available in the US market for the first time, will be released April 5, 2011.
The Classics (ODR 7400) feature three full-length CDs. Pachelbel to Purcell includes their classic version of Pachelbel Canon, Mouret’s Rondeau (familiar as the Theme to Masterpiece Theatre) and the wedding staple Trumpet Voluntary. Between Bach & Handel features all-time works by these two great Baroque giants including Suite from Water Music, the famous Largo from Xerxes and a rousing Hallelujah Chorus by Handel along with a tuneful “Little” Fugue in G minor, an expansive Toccata and Fugue in D minor and the popular Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring all by Bach. With Mozart & More, the Brass explore classical and romantic composers performing works by Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn, Bizet, Paganini and more. The final track, Amazing Grace, makes for the perfect finale creating a treasure trove of classic Canadian Brass tracks of nearly 2 ½ hours. A must-have collection for every Canadian Brass fan!
