The Canadian Brass got an early Christmas present when their latest Holiday title Christmas Tradition scored a triumph with a Top 10 position on the Billboard Holiday Album Chart for the week ending October 17th. Landing at a solid #8, the Brass beat out artists Yo-Yo Ma, Il Divo, Josh Groban, Vince Guaraldi and Harry Connick Jr for Top 10 honors as this years Holiday season kicks off.
Christmas Tradition was bolstered by sales from Musical Heritage Society’s promotion A Canadian Christmas and once again has cemented the Brass as one of the all-time great Holiday Music acts. The album features 23 tracks of all-time holiday favorites, all newly recorded and joyously played by the Canadian Brass. With the upcoming Holiday tour schedule, fans can now see the Canadian Brass perform works from their chart topping album.
Joining the Brass in the Top 10 was fellow Opening Day label recording artist Sean Kelly. Mr. Kelly’s first Holiday album, Christmas Guitar, debuted at #10 for the week on the Holiday Album chart. Christmas Guitar also enjoyed a unique double with Christmas Guitar also peaking at #6 for the week on the Billboard New Age Music chart. Christmas Guitar features Sean Kelly’s masterful guitar playing in sumptuous arrangements highlighting guitar, percussion, harp, bells, keyboard and more.
Congratulations to Canadian Brass and Sean Kelly as well as Opening Day Recordings.
