Canadian Brass Meets Contest Winner!
The very week Musical Heritage Society notified Mr. Powell, Canadian Brass was performing on the outskirts of Dallas. The group quickly invited Mr. Powell, his wife and grandson to be their guests at the performance. At intermission, the Powell family was escorted backstage where they met the players and took several pictures with the new Yamaha trumpet and other goodies. Mr. Powell explained that he had played trumpet earlier in life and thought he might pick it up again. Joe and Brandon wasted little time in getting him playing again during the brief intermission. The group enjoyed meeting the Powell family and hopes others follow in his footsteps. Music is the gift that keeps on giving; it doesn’t matter if you haven’t played in years, you can always make music!
